The Fargo-Moorhead Youth Choir is committed to providing an optional tour experience as part of our program.
Our goals for touring include:
- To provide enrichment through performance opportunities
- To provide a supplemental music education opportunity
- To provide a musical and social “team-building” experience
Intermediate and advanced choirs and their family members have the opportunity to partake in a joint early summer tour. Tours alternate between short 3 day trips, day trips, and 5 day trips giving families ample opportunity to fund raise large tour expenses. Tour destination is chosen by the Board of Directors under the advisement and recommendations of the Artistic Directors of the Choirs. The tour may be a performance-based tour and/or it may include participation in a local, regional or national festival.
Each choir member, chaperone, and other family members pay for his/her own tour and FMYC offers several (optional) fundraising activities in order to assure that the tours are affordable to all. All tours are chaperoned on an approximately 4:1 ratio of choir members to adults.
