Krista Salzer is the Emerald choir director and teaches K-5 general music and choir at Eagles Elementary in Fargo, ND. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumental Music Education from NDSU and is currently working on her master’s degree in Music Education from NDSU. Krista also has her Kodaly Certification from MSUM and Orff Certification from NDSU.
Before accepting her position at Eagles Elementary, Krista taught elementary music and choir for two years at Lincoln Elementary in Fargo. Previously she taught elementary music for two years in Aitkin, MN and elementary music and beginning band for three years in Bismarck, ND. Krista led the clarinet section and was a chaperone for the Northern Ambassadors of Music Europe tours in 2011 and 2013. Most recently, Krista was elected to be the East-region general music representative for the North Dakota Music Educator’s Association. She served in that position for 4 years. Krista was also elected to be the President for the Northern Plains Kodaly Chapter based in Fargo, ND.
In her spare time, Krista enjoys spending time with her children, Jack and Ava. She also enjoys baking, shopping and attending Orff and Kodaly workshops. Her husband, Matthew teaches band at Discovery Middle school in Fargo. Together they enjoy traveling and discovering new restaurants around the Fargo area.
